Ark Invest has updated its price target for Bitcoin's rise scenario for 2030 from 1.5 million dollars to 2.4 million dollars.

Famous investor Cathie Wood's leading Ark Invest has significantly raised its long-term price prediction for Bitcoin. According to a report prepared by Ark analyst David Puell, the company now employs a special method that excludes coins that have been lost or inactive for a long time in the valuation of Bitcoin. This new and "experimental" methodology indicates that the price of Bitcoin could reach 2.4 million dollars by the year 2030.

The rise scenario that forms the basis of the new prediction is based on the assumption of an annual compound growth rate of approximately 72% from the end of 2024 to the end of 2030 (CAGR). The report by Ark Invest also includes more conservative scenarios for Bitcoin. Accordingly, in the base scenario, the price of Bitcoin is projected to be 1.2 million dollars (%53 CAGR), while in the decline scenario, it is expected to be 500 thousand dollars (%32 CAGR).

According to Puell's analysis, the use of Bitcoin as digital gold is effective in both base and bearish scenarios, while the interest of institutional investors constitutes the main reason for the price increase in the bullish scenario. Additionally, it is noted that Bitcoin could also play an important role as an investment alternative in emerging markets.

The report states that individuals in emerging markets who want to protect themselves from the depreciation of local currencies may turn to Bitcoin over time, thanks to low entry barriers, allowing for capital appreciation.

Puell stated that traditional valuation models do not adequately consider the supply scarcity of Bitcoin and the lost coins, emphasizing that the new method developed by Ark Invest addresses this deficiency.
