A Deep Dive into the Collective Performance Meeting of the Sci-Tech Innovation Board Bots Industry: The Localization Rate of the Supply Chain Accelerates While the Industrial Sector Still Faces Intense Competition
According to the "Ke Chuang Ban Daily" on May 7 (Reporter Huang Xiumei), the 2024 annual performance briefing for the robotics industry on the Science and Technology Innovation Board was held yesterday (May 6) afternoon, with five companies participating: Ruisi Technology, Boke Co., Aofei, Obit Zhongguang, and Lanjian Intelligent.
The reporter from the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily attended the online meeting through the Shanghai Stock Exchange roadshow center and asked questions about the localization of the supply chains of various companies and their respective fields that the market is concerned about, the latest progress in business implementation for 2025, future business plans, terminal market demand, and the latest trends in the current industry.
The core supply chains of many companies have been localized.
What is the localization rate of the Bots supply chain? Has the tariff policy impacted the company? You Wei, chairman and general manager of the leading industrial robot company Efort, stated in an interview with a reporter from the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily that the localization rate of key components in the company has reached over 95%, with the autonomy rate of controllers exceeding 99%. Only a small number of components are imported.
"The increase in the localization rate and self-sufficiency rate of key components has a significant impact on the company's supply chain security and cost control. The company focuses on the development of domestic supply chains during new product development and existing product iteration processes to continuously improve the localization rate of relevant core components," said You Wei.
Ruisong Technology is a system solution provider focusing on Bots, machine vision, industrial software, and intelligent manufacturing. The company's chairman and president, Sun Zhiqiang, responded that Ruisong Technology currently relies mainly on imported products for some Bots, control systems, and other aspects, while most of the other links have achieved domestic supply and self-production.
Sun Zhiqiang further mentioned, "We are currently at a good opportunity for further enhancing the localization of the manufacturing supply chain, and some of the company's clients advocate for localized production lines. If domestic robot technology can meet the requirements, the company will gradually move towards localization in the future."
Tang Dong, the Chairman and General Manager of Boke Co., Ltd., a supplier of low-voltage servo for industrial mobile robots, mentioned that the company's current proportion of imported raw materials is relatively low, with most materials sourced domestically. For the portion of raw materials that are imported, the company also has corresponding localization plans.
Huang Yuanhao, the chairman and general manager of Orbbec, a developer of 3D visual perception, stated that after years of technical breakthroughs and vertical integration of the industrial chain, Orbbec has established a "full-stack technical research and development capability + full-field technical route layout" 3D visual perception technology system, forming an autonomous and controllable system covering core technologies and the supply chain.
"The company has achieved a complete technological closed loop from the underlying chip architecture, core algorithm development, integrated optical machine engine to upper-level application solutions. It can achieve domestic adaptation in key supply chain links, forming technological barriers and an ecological moat, and has become one of the few solution providers in the world with completely independent intellectual property rights," said Huang Yuanhao.
The chairman of Lanjian Intelligent, Wu Yaohua, also told a reporter from the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily that Lanjian Intelligent has basically achieved localization in procurement, and the raw material supply chain remains stable. Currently, export customers basically bear the tariffs, and the tariff policy has no direct impact on the company.
The competition in the industrial robot industry is fierce.
It is worth mentioning that, as a field that has attracted significant market attention, what is the overall situation of the Bots industry currently? What new project developments do companies have in 2025? All companies participating in the earnings presentation have responded.
Yow Wei, Chairman and General Manager of Efort, stated that according to the forecast analysis of downstream industry demand opportunities for industrial robots by Rui Industrial MIR, new growth opportunities are expected to emerge in 2025 in industries such as 3C electronics, automotive and automotive parts, automotive electronics, lithium batteries, semiconductors, home appliances, and metal products.
"To support market expansion, Effort will launch heavy-duty Bots, heavy-duty SCARA platform products, etc., further improving the company's Bots product portfolio." You Wei specifically mentioned, "Moreover, the company is promoting the transition of Bots from 'specialized equipment' to 'general intelligent agents.'"
It is worth mentioning that Aofute also noted in its 2024 report that, according to Rui Industrial statistics, the Chinese industrial robot market is under pressure in 2024, with an annual sales growth rate of only 3.9% year-on-year. Although the market share of domestic robots has seen significant growth, the robot industry in 2024 is experiencing a situation of "increased volume without increased revenue, increased revenue without increased profit."
Chairman of Lanjian Intelligent, Wu Yaohua, replied to a question from a reporter of the Science and Technology Innovation Board Daily, stating that from an overall perspective, the industry competition is fierce, and there is a clear customization of downstream demand. Enterprises with technological innovation advantages can still maintain a good profit level, while enterprises with weak product innovation capabilities and high homogeneity are facing significant operational pressure.
Regarding whether Lanjian Intelligent has further plans to develop humanoid robots, Wu Yaohua replied that the underlying technologies of intelligent logistics robots and humanoid robots are interconnected. The company has already implemented thousands of AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots) deployment projects.
In response to whether the company has further laid out the field of humanoid robots, Tang Dong, chairman and general manager of Buke Co., Ltd., responded, "At present, humanoid robot technology is in a key breakthrough period from the laboratory to practical application and gradually realize mass production. The key technologies are continuously iteratively upgraded, and the motor and drive are only one of the key components of the humanoid robot, and the maturity of the humanoid robot still requires the joint efforts of many industrial chains. ”
Tang Dong stated that Buke Co., Ltd. has actively laid out the humanoid robot track, providing products such as frameless torque motors and joint module platform components for humanoid robots. It has established cooperation with some leading domestic humanoid robot customers and formed bulk orders.
Tang Dong further disclosed that, "Currently, the fourth generation of frameless torque motors is under development, which will further optimize in terms of weight, process, and cost. At the same time, following the fourth generation, the next generation of products has already begun preliminary research, all of which are to better prepare for future performance improvements and high cost-effectiveness."
