Brave Wallet Integrates Cardano, Expanding Crypto Options
Brave Software has announced the integration of Cardano into its browser-native wallet, allowing users to manage and engage with the cryptocurrency directly within the platform. The move follows a strategic partnership between Brave and Input Output, the blockchain infrastructure firm behind Cardano. This integration, confirmed in a joint announcement on May 12, introduces full support for ADA, Cardano's native token, alongside features like sending, receiving, and swapping tokens.
With the integration, Brave Wallet now offers token management for ADA holders as well as governance tools, enabling users to actively participate in the blockchain's decentralized ecosystem. Users can access these functions seamlessly through the wallet, marking a significant step forward in the evolution of on-chain governance.
Brendan Eich, CEO of Brave, emphasized that this integration not only improves interoperability but also enhances security, offering Cardano users a robust and privacy-focused experience. "By bringing Cardano into Brave Wallet, we are advancing a new standard for how blockchain networks should empower individuals—protecting privacy while enabling active, on-chain participation," added Charles Hoskinson, CEO of Input Output.
The addition of Cardano expands Brave Wallet’s support for leading blockchain networks, including Ethereum and Solana, solidifying its position as a key player in the crypto space. Future collaboration between Brave and Input Output is expected to include further innovations, such as the integration of Midnight, a blockchain focused on data protection through zero-knowledge proofs.
Brave Wallet, which also supports decentralized applications on networks like Zcash, Filecoin, and Ethereum, is available for both desktop and mobile users on Android and iOS. As Cardano continues to grow, with the total value locked in its protocols reaching $395 million, this move further solidifies Brave’s commitment to providing a secure and versatile crypto wallet experience for users worldwide.
