Strong Response from Altcoin Founder to $600 Million Token Allegation: Audit is Coming!
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson denied allegations of misusing a $600 million ADA fund and announced that they prepared an independent audit report.
Charles Hoskinson, the creator of Cardano, has been in the spotlight recently due to serious allegations circulating within the community. NFT artist Masato Alexander claimed that during the 2021 Allegra hard fork update, Hoskinson altered Cardano's ledger using the "genesis key" and took control of approximately 318 million ADA worth about $619 million. Hoskinson strongly denied these allegations and stated that a large portion of the ADA funds was either returned to the original owners or donated.
Records on the Cardano blockchain confirm that a total of 318 million ADA was transferred from reserve pools to staking and treasury allocations through a special transaction dated October 24, 2021. Hoskinson stated that ADA claims were kept open for three years following these transfer transactions and that the majority of the funds were claimed by the original recipients over a total period of seven years.
Hoskinson is hurt by the community
Charles Hoskinson stated through his social media platform X that the audit report is nearing completion and will be published. He also expressed that the allegations directed at him have deeply hurt him and conveyed his sadness over the questioning of the trust bond with the community. "After the audit report is published, I will hand over my social media account to my media team and change the format of my Q&A and other posts," he said.
Hoskinson, one of the co-founders of Ethereum and considered one of the most important figures in the blockchain space, frequently emphasizes the importance of collaboration and trust for the future of the industry.
