In today's rapidly developing artificial intelligence landscape, we are faced with an unexpected issue: our personal identification is gradually being erased. With the proliferation of AI tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, and Suno, the identity of creators seems to have become less important. This phenomenon is not limited to the AI field; it was already evident during the Web2 era.
Users publish content on social platforms, and the platform collects data; creators work hard to write, but the profits are taken by the platform; years of accumulated fans and content are wasted due to account changes. In the AI era, the situation is even more severe: AI can 'learn' and replicate your creations but will not give you the recognition you deserve; various platforms demand your behavioral data but are unwilling to share profits with you.
In this era, the question of 'who are you' seems to be becoming less and less important. However, Web3 technology is attempting to change all of that. Web3 projects represented by Lagrange are exploring how to redefine and protect users' digital identities through 'on-chain identification.'
The core idea of Lagrange is to assign a unique mark to every action of users on the blockchain, while using zero-knowledge proof (ZK) technology to protect user privacy. This new type of identification does not rely on traditional mobile phone numbers or email addresses, but is based on the real actions of users on the blockchain, including which protocols they have interacted with, what governance activities they have participated in, and what on-chain assets they possess.
This blockchain-based identification system generates an unforgeable, cross-chain usable 'on-chain identification'. In a future where AI technology becomes increasingly prevalent, 'who you are' and 'what you have done' will become truly scarce and valuable assets. The goal of Lagrange and other Web3 projects is to transform users' on-chain behavior into personal assets, rather than being exploited by major platforms.
With the continuous advancement of AI technology, our digital identification faces unprecedented challenges. The emergence of Web3 technology offers us a new possibility, allowing us to truly take control of our digital identity and data. In this rapidly changing digital world, protecting and defining our identification has become more important than ever.
