Disorganized! Pump.fun live broadcast was shocked to see child abuse and bestiality, and the official shouted: banned indefinitely

Shocking! Pump.fun live streaming has turned into a hotbed of illegal content

Memecoin platform Pump.fun in the Solana ecosystem has recently fallen into a major content crisis. In just a few months, the platform's live streaming feature became a platform full of heinous illegal and inappropriate content. According to various reports, the live broadcast featured extremely disturbing images including child abuse, bestiality, suicide threats and threats of violence. The platform announced on November 25 that it would suspend the live streaming feature indefinitely to ensure user safety.

The platform officially stated in a community announcement: 'In order to ensure the absolute safety of users, we will indefinitely suspend the live broadcast function on the site until we are ready to handle the content review infrastructure for high-intensity activities.' This shows that Pump.fun has realized the seriousness of the problem and is determined to thoroughly rectify the live broadcast environment. The platform also promises to release usage regulations more transparently and provide clearer individual content review decision visibility for creators and users.

Platform Compromised: From Token Promotion to Illegal Activities

The original design of Pump.fun's live streaming feature was to allow users to easily promote their meme tokens, but it has been maliciously exploited by some users. According to statistics, the platform has issued over 3.86 million tokens since January this year, but the success rate is only 1.42%.

Even more shocking, there were several hair-raising incidents during the live broadcast, including a teenager who created a Token and defrauded investors of $30,000, and another user who threatened to commit suicide if the Token did not reach a market cap of $25 million. There was even someone who threatened to shoot during the live broadcast.

Beau, the security project manager in the community, publicly called for the platform to intervene immediately. He noted that the live streaming feature has "completely spiraled out of control" and that user behavior is increasingly disturbing. Some members of the community even described Pump.fun's live stream as a "hotbed of crime" and called for immediate action. Not only that, but there have been multiple heinous incidents of content on the platform, including threats to kill family members when the token target is not reached, and even threats to shoot at schools.

Platform response and future development

Alon, co-founder of Pump.fun, acknowledges that the platform's content moderation is currently 'imperfect.' He emphasizes that while supporting freedom of speech, the platform has a responsibility to ensure that users do not see disgusting or dangerous content and to prevent malicious actors from acting recklessly. Alon states that the platform already has a large moderation team and encourages community members to proactively report inappropriate content.

Legal experts also point out that these behaviors have crossed the boundaries of criminal and civil litigation. Yuriy Brisov, partner of Digital and Analogue Partners, warned that allowing such behavior to continue could result in serious legal consequences. He emphasized that even meme coin platforms are subject to existing laws, including charges of money laundering, fraud, and so on.

Industry insiders criticize that this is not only a reputational issue for the platform, but may also lead to serious legal consequences. Mads Eberhardt, an analyst at Steno Research, bluntly said that this situation is "not a good image for the entire cryptocurrency industry." Whether Pump.fun can rebuild trust in the future remains to be seen. The platform has generated more than 215 million US dollars in revenue, but how to balance user freedom and security has become the biggest challenge at present.
